Son of Twin Suns

01

By David Hurtado

The Son of Twin Suns trades sand dunes for starlight.

Farm boy naivete buried with aunt and uncle.

He walks across a sky once far, far away.

Toward the precipice of his own history.

Heir to a legacy of war between darkness and light.

He will save what was stolen by thunderous applause.

And end the shadow cast long upon the stars.

A flicker who dares defy an almighty empire.

Shoulder to shoulder with the broken and brave.

Bound by a fool's gambit to dawn a new hope.

Many give their last breaths for this last-ditch stand.

But the Old Hermit's words center his resolve.

Let go. Trust your feelings. So he does.

And that wound in the stars comes unmade.

Consumed by the brilliance of a man-made sun.
